This will ensure a smooth installation of Revolt .15. If you are having issues installing and getting Revolt to work properly please see our Frequently asked questions documentation and read on.
This version is not a patch, it’s a Master Build and has all of what you need to play Revolt!
Returning Revolt Players Install:
1. Uninstall Revolt by going to add remove programs and use the provided uninstaller(s). 2. Browse to your Call of Duty root directory and find Revolt folder and delete it. Continue to step 3..
First Time Revolting Players:
3. Download Revolt_15.exe from www.codmod.com downloads section and save to a desired location. 4. Browse to that location you downloaded too and open the Revolt_15.exe and follow the on-screen instructions. 5. Please be cautious as to where you install Revolt too. If you have Call of duty installed to another location other than C:\Program files\Call of Duty\, you will need to browse to that location. Note: The desktop icon the Revolt installer creates points to C:\Program files\Call of Duty\Revolt\, you will have to manually edit the target line to be able to launch Revolt Directly if you have Call of Duty installed in a location other then the default. All you have to do is right click the icon, go to properties and make these changes to the target and Start in text fields. 6. Launch Revolt!
Note: The first time you launch Revolt from a clean install, Revolt will copy your Stock Call of Duty configuration files. These files are where your cdkey, control options and hardware configurations reside. They will be set up the same exact way you set them up for Call of Duty initially until you make the changes in game.
PLAYING REVOLT:
Finding a place to play:
When you first launch Revolt, the Revolt main menu appears which is your main navigation to choosing your engagement. Right away you will notice Revolt's menu differs from that of conventional Call of Duty. In this release we have made inroads to make it easier to find a server running Revolt. When you click "Join Server", you can filter for Revolt servers by game type. All supported Revolt game types have a REV_ prefix. Stock game types are no longer supported by Revolt and will crash upon execution. You can also filter by map, but it's not recommended being that Revolt does support stock maps and will get lost in the mix. If you want to use the filter by map option, Revolt maps have 3 prefixes: LAN_, CTF_ and REV_. All of these prefixes ensures that Revolt is running on the server with these maps.
Still having trouble finding servers?
You can visit our website at www.codmod.com for servers dedicated to running Revolt. Just jot down an ip, launch Revolt and press the tild key "`". You can then type /connect ip#:port# and press enter, and it will directly connect to that server. Please be aware that many servers take advantage of Punk Buster. You should enable this setting in Multiplayer Options in the Main Menu. If Punk Buster is set to No, you will have issues trying to connect or will be disconnected quickly.
Ok, found a server, connected, now what?
In this release we decided to put you in battle as a spectator initially. This will let you get a good look at things before committing to battle.
1. Press escape 2 times and the Team selection menu will appear. Pick the team you would like to join or hit auto assign and you will be placed on whichever team needs support (recommended).
2. The next menu to appear is player selection. This is a new option in this release and it allows you to pick what you will look like to other players.
3. Now you should be carried to your weapons profile menu. This menu is wear you pick your choice of primary weapon and based on that choice an accessory to attach to it. Note: If a server is using rewards, you will be defaulted to use the standard weapon without attachments if your team has lost the previous round.
4. Select your side arm of choice and click on engage. This will place you in the game with your team mates. Note: If spawning is round based you will have to wait for the end of the round before you engage.
Your weapon profile and character selection will be carried with you until you go to the next map or leave the game. You can change your weapon profile at any time by hitting escape but changes will not take effect until the round is over or you die.
TIPS:
If you are new to Revolt please be patient. The weapons and over all feel of Revolt differs from standard Call of Duty quite a bit. Take your time and try and be accurate. You'll notice the weapons are perfectly accurate on the first shot while still.
Using your sites is key to going full auto. If you want to mow down your enemies, bring those sights up and fight the recoil to hold her steady. You'll find that after a while, going full auto will dominate your opposition.
Remember, head shots kill! No matter what gun you are firing, if you shoot your enemy in the face, they will be no more. Sometimes taking that extra second to line up that head shot makes all the difference.
Use those radio calls! In this release we made it so only your team can hear you over the radio. You won't have to worry about giving away your position and you'll be giving your team a heads up on danger.
Also, help your team complete the objectives. Even if you have to sacrifice your life to help neutralize an ambush, it's worth it to keep your team on top!
