Frequently Asked Questions:

A LANCLAN PUBLICATION

Q: When I try to join a server, I get an error about "Invalid PK3 files" What is that about?

A: You may be trying to join a Vanilla Call of Duty server, while Revolt is enabled, so double check.

The server may have custom maps or mini-mods installed, and you may not have them, try turning off Auto-Downloading to avoid corruption in your Revolt installation.

Q: I get an error about "Can't load weapon...", what do I do?

A: Chances are, your install might have been corrupt, try removing the ENTIRE "Revolt" directory in your Call of Duty directory, then reinstalling.

You might have installed the .11 Patch BEFORE the .1 full, again, try removing the ENTIRE "Revolt" directory in your Call of Duty directory, then reinstalling .1 first, then .11 after.

If all else fails, your download may have been corrupted, try downloading from a different location.

Q: I get an error about Game code (ui_mp-x86.dll) failed Pure Server when I try to join a game.

A: You have installed Revolt incorrectly, and chances are the Revolt files are in your Call of Duty directory, rather then in the Revolt directory (which is inside of your Call of Duty directory).

Q: How do I turn off the "farting" in my server?

A: After entering Rcon password correctly for your server, type in: /rcon scr_actime "0", and your problem should be solved.

Q: I'm on a Mac, how can I play Revolt, if it's even compatible?

A: Revolt is compatible with the Macintosh version of Call of Duty as far as we know.  None of the development team owns a Mac, therefore testing it or supporting it is a problem.  If there is a demand for Revolt on Mac, we will work with those individuals to getting them a build.  Please contact the team and we'll see what we can come up with.  The Revolt .17 patch is in pk3 format and can be downloaded directly to the Mac.

Q: The guns shoots perfectly accurate on the first shot while holding it at hip, some people are putting dots on their screen to exploit it.  Will it be fixed?

A: Yes, measures have been taken to avoid exploiting the Revolt arsenal,  we look forward to making more adjustments based on new findings.

Q: Will there be more maps and game types released for Revolt?

A: Yes.  Maps are always being developed by us and other talented Mappers around the globe.  We welcome new maps and scripts from 3rd party contributors and are willing to assist in any porting that may be necessary.  As far as adding new game types, we have a few under construction and will hopefully see them surface for testing on the server side soon.

Q: What about weapons?

A: Chances are no.  Adjustments can and will most likely be made to the current arsenal based on demand.  We've used up all of the weapon slots available to us in the .17 build, so we're pretty much restricted on those terms.

Q: Will Revolt go to United Offensive?

A: No.  United Offensive does not have sufficient resources for a Revolt expansion.  We'd much rather ride it out where it is now and re-create it on a more mod friendly foundation for the future.

Q: What's in the future for Revolt?

A: The Revolt .17 update brings Revolt into beta stages.  This essentially means, we are in final stages of content and are looking to polish everything current.  The LANCLAN team will continually support Revolt and expand on it.  This, however, does not mean that moving to another host game or an engine of it's own is out of the question.  If a move is made, chances are we'll keep quiet about it until we have something solid to release.  This does not mean we'll be abandoning the current Revolt on Call of Duty.  It only means expansion for an eventual transformation is in Revolt's future.  Either way, Revolt will be around for a long time and will only get better as LANCLAN does.
